2026 Dahlia Tuber Sale Policies

  • Thank you for supporting our small farm with your dahlia tuber purchase. We are passionate about growing these beautiful flowers and are excited to share them with you.

We guarantee that the tuber you purchased is true to variety. Each tuber will be in good form with a sturdy neck and body, and at least one visible eye.

Our tubers are stored in a dry, temperature-controlled environment. They are clearly labeled and shipped in dry packing material at the time that is most appropriate for your growing zone.

Please inspect your tubers immediately upon receipt, and notify us within 7 calendar days at growers@laughingseedsfarm.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Any issues that arise after 7 days are the sole responsibility of the purchaser. We are not liable for any tuber issues resulting from improper storage, growing conditions, pest damage, plant performance, or negligence.

Please see our Dahlia Care page for recommendations on how best to care for your dahlia tuber and growing plants.

  • Our entire inventory is loaded into our Shop page after digging and dividing is completed, usually by December 1. Tubers will remain for sale through May 1.

During the growing season from May - end of November, all inventory will show as “Sold Out” while we get final counts loaded. We grow new varieties every year, so check the current sale for new additions.

  • We accept all major credit cards on our checkout page. For customers visiting us in person at our farm stand or farmers market stall we also accept cash, check, ApplePay, and Venmo.

All dahlia tuber purchases are final. We do not offer refunds past the 7-day grace period. We do not combine online orders placed separately.

  • Dahlia tubers can be damaged by freezing temperatures. Therefore, we ship using USPS Priority Shipping in mid- to late- spring, depending on your growing zone.

  • Buyers assume all risk when buying dahlia tubers. According to the American Dahlia Society, an average of 87% of healhty, asyptomatic dahlia plants carry at least one dormant virus.

We do our best to keep plants healthy. Plants are regularly inspected, and any plants thought to harbor disease are immediately destroyed. We also regularly clean and sanitize our tools for all tasks from harvest to division. We are also not open to U-picks or harvest by other customers, so the only tools going out to our field are our own clean ones.

That being said, there are many environmental conditions that can affect a tuber once it is planted. Therefore, we do not refund for plants displaying viruses. Dahlias may display virus-like symptoms such as stunted growth, discoloration, leaf curling, and/or spots due to environmental stressors or nutritional depletion. Please note that the only way to definitely confirm if a plant has a virus is to take a sample and have it properly tested.
